Boxed Ideas for Responsible Development

Compa Box. A tool to change the conversation

Compa Box is a sustainability teaser for public or private companies that want to refine their sustainability strategy or take the very first steps towards sustainable development. The aim is to understand how to approach sustainability, the opportunities it brings and the challenges it poses, and to start a genuine organization-wide dialogue.

COMPATIBLE: Compa Box provides a framework for sustainable development, aligned with the European reporting requirements (CSRD/ESRS) and specific international standards (ISO, GRI), offering guidance and a portfolio of solutions to choose from, across a wide variety of sustainability chapters.

COMPACT: The Compa Box approach intertwines nature-, society- and governance-related aspects, inviting organizations and public actors to embrace a holistic approach to sustainability.

COMPASSIONATE: Compa Box allows for deep learning, updates regarding newest trends and tracking of progress over time, using gamified methods that help overcome fear of transformation and sustainability fatigue; it strengthens internal motivation, genuine understanding, and the capacity to act, to inspire others and remain relevant over time.

Compa Box was developed as part of the Sustainability Experience Lab.

For visionary and dynamic organizations, the Compa Box invites participants to explore sustainability in a way that’s practical, engaging, and inspiring, to gain not just knowledge, but also perspective.

Each set contains 10 cardboard boxes, used as interactive learning tools, to uncover layers of meaning. The result: a perspective on sustainability that goes far beyond the usual carbon footprint narrative. It helps teams connect environmental, social, economic, and institutional aspects into a coherent picture that encourages long-term thinking and meaningful change.

A product designed to learn and get inspired

Understanding through games & scenarios

Learning works best when it’s experienced, not explained. That’s why we use gamification as a core learning strategy.

With Compa Box Participants engage in structured challenges, reflection prompts, and playful discovery, all designed to provoke curiosity and collaboration. The Compa Box games make space for experimentation, dialogue, and connection, essential ingredients for tackling complex issues like sustainability.

We don’t teach facts, we create understanding and enable dialogue.

We bridge the individual, the local, the regional, with the global. Compa Box allows an exploration of European sustainability priorities, while also showing how these connect with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We highlight interdependencies, encourage cross-sectoral thinking and build capacity for action within a European & an international context.

Alignment with sustainable development goals

Setting priorities while using sustainable products

The medium is part of the message. The Compa Box isn’t just about sustainability—it is sustainable. Each box is made from durable, recycled cardboard, designed to be reused as furniture in classrooms, offices, or meeting spaces.

By choosing it, not only as a learning instrument, but as office supplies, organizations can reduce material consumption, support circular design, demonstrate commitment to sustainability in a tangible way. Sustainability is about making every choice count.
